Subject: Important Please Read: Planned Partial Electrical Shutdown at EL Building – March 3rd

All Purdue Indianapolis Site directors,
Please see the note below regarding an electrical shutdown in the EL building on 3/3/26.
Please pass this along as needed and let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

Thanks
Dave

Campus Facility Services would like to inform you about a planned partial electrical shutdown scheduled for Tuesday, March 3rd, from 6:00 AM to 7:00 AM. This shutdown is required to perform maintenance on faulty surge protectors that safeguard our electrical components from voltage spikes.

Please be advised that CFS is currently unsure whether the electrical shutdown scheduled from 6:00 AM to 7:00 AM will affect the operation of card readers used to unlock doors during that time.

EL power outlets will not be affected. Operations will continue as usual without any interruptions.

During this time, the following systems will be affected

- Building lighting (level of impact uncertain)

- door openers ???

- Passenger elevator

- Portions of the fire system

- Exterior can lights

- Exit lights

- Lighting on the bridge connecting to the LD building

- Two circuits in room 306

CFS maintenance team will be on site to ensure a smooth process.

Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or need further clarification
