All Purdue Indianapolis Site Directors,
Please see the Steam/Water shutdown details below for the EL building on Sat. April 11th. Let me know if there are any questions or concerns and pass along as needed.
Thanks,
Dave
All,
On Saturday, April 11, CFS needs to make repairs to the domestic water system. This will result in water and steam to be shut down on the 11th. The proposed shutdown time will be from 5:30am - 4:00pm. We anticipate the repairs to not take this long but are
in place for the worst-case scenario. During this time, there will be no domestic water to the building. This will affect restrooms, drinking fountains, eye wash, emergency showers, and steam. Because steam will be affected, there will be no building heat
to the building and no steam available to any autoclaves if any exist in the building. Steam has to be shutdown as domestic water is utilized as a cooling agent.
The reason for the shutdown is to install a new isolation valve on the domestic water system and to replace several other valves in line that are involved with the water softeners. We believe one of the current valves is permitting city water to mix with softened
water and is leaking by.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
