Dear Farshid,
As per your email below, I have informed Eckhard about this course and received his support below. I would greatly appreciate if you could put this course for approval on March 21 (Monday) meeting. Thank you very much and I look forward
to the meeting.
Best regards,

Dear Satish,
In general, I am supportive of this course. However, following appropriate procedures, I suggest that Farshid adds this course to the agenda of one of the next Design Area faculty meetings so that we can obtain approval by the academic area for this course.
Best wishes,
Eckhard

Dear Eckhard,
I hope you are doing well. I am planning to offer a senior undergraduate elective course titled “Reliability in Engineering Design” in Spring 2023. I have indicated my interest to Farshid, Jim, and Ganesh about this. Ganesh has indicated to me that he would not be teaching his reliability class in the future (email below).
I am kindly asking for your approval and support for this course. On another note, I will be teaching a new course ME 354 (Machine Design) in Fall 2022 and I felt that it would beneficial to teach an exclusive undergraduate reliability engineering course.
Please let me know your thoughts on this. Thank you.
Best regards,
Satish

Dear Satish,
I am all in favor of offering this class. However, I believe perhaps it is best for you to discuss this with Eckhard. I will then be happy to move it forward.
Best,

Dear Farshid,
I hope you are doing well. I am writing to seek the approval of the design group to teach an elective class in Spring 2023. The course is titled "Reliability in Engineering Design". I understand that there is another graduate level elective course previously taught by Ganesh Subbarayan. I contacted Ganesh in this regard and found out that he will not be teaching this course in the near future and possibly beyond as per the email below.
Upon conversation with Jim Jones, we feel that it would more convenient to offer an elective course exclusively for undergraduate students. This is because many undergrads would be intimidated by 5XX number. I also feel that this would be a valuable course for undergrads in addition to ME 354 . In this regard, I have attached the course profile to be evaluated by the design committee in our March 21 meeting. I would be happy to answer any questions about this proposed course in the meeting on Monday after the break. I would appreciate any feedback from you and the committee. Thank you and I look forward to hearing from you.
Best regards,
Satish
Dear Satish,
Sorry for my slow response. I am working on a proposal due in early March and that has consumed all my time over the past few weeks.
I am unlikely to be teaching ME 571 in the next year and possibly beyond that. So, it will be fine for you to take over the class, if you like.
Best regards,
Ganesh
