All POTR lab users and PIs- REM's inspection has now been scheduled for Tue Jan 25. It is essential that we have all hands on deck (POTR lab users) TOMORROW MORNING to review our current chemical segregation situation. Basically, our immediate attention is needed. Please meet me in POTR 234 (Fu Room) or 216 at 9am. This is mandatory. I apologize for scheduling this on short notice but it is an urgent safety violation that needs our attention and one that I believe can be accomplished if we all actively participate. It is also my hope that this will keep all lab users accountable when bringing new chemicals into the lab (remember- you should be emailing me SDSs). Jorge and Clark have been working very diligently in updating our Chemical Inventory in all POTR labs. I will give instructions on how to temporarily record tomorrow's movement of chemicals, if it necessary to do so. I will present a few minutes on the topic of Chemical Segregation and then we'll be dismissed to update chemicals in your applicable labs along with the Chemical Segregation and Storage Table handout. Please do not schedule any other task between 9-10am tomorrow.
