July LORRE Safety Issue

                                                                  7/30/2018

To All,

REM informed us on 7/17/2018 that LORRE got the 2018 Integrated Safety Plan (ISP) annual renewal certification. That is a great new! Thanks to everyone at LORRE for their hard work during the ISP self-audit. We need to maintain the same sense of responsibility to keep the LORRE safety plan well-executed.

Since two members of LORRE safety committee will leave Purdue soon, new team members are joining: Pablo Vega and Jessica Zuponic. They will help the safety committee to work effectively.

LORRE Safety Committee Members

           Prof.& Director Ladisch, Michael

           Prof. Mosier, Nathan

           Samira Fatemi

           Antonio Carlos Feritas dos Santos

           Pablo Vega

           Jessica L Zuponic

As a new semester is beginning, new students are going to work at LORRE Lab. They have to take the LORRE safety training before starting to work here. For that, please contact safety committee member Samira Fatemi, her email:sfatemi@purdue.edu.

In addition, in the last two weeks Jonathan Overton, Casey Bomrad helped to clean up the B38 and the storage room, and Fabricio Espinoza, Elena A Robles Molina deal with waste material. Thanks to them for their hard work!

Finally, we will place some hazardous-waste disposal orange tags, Hazardous Material pickup request and Biomaterials pickup request forms on the wall file organizers at the Lab #237. So, anyone can get easily one of them for handling waste materials.

Thanks,

LORRE Safety Committee
