To
All:
A
few lab
announcements concerning the next few days.
First, the autoclave will be out of service tomorrow,
2/4/2016. A new boiler is being installed, and this
process will take
all day. Please be sure that your use of the autoclave is done
by the end of
the day today (2/3/2016) so that it can cool down overnight.
Second, please be sure to close
the -700C
refrigerator in room 237 completely. Last Friday (1/29/2016) the
door was not
completely closed, which eventually set off the temperature
alarm. A loss of
environment inside the refrigerator could lead to the samples
inside going bad,
or it could ruin the refrigerant compressor inside the machine.
Please be sure
that it is completely closed and latched in the future.
Finally,
on
Friday we will begin calibrating all of
the pipettes in
the lab. Those on the 3rd floor, please bring your
pipettes to room
333 beginning at 1:30pm and they will be tested for accuracy.
Those on the
second floor, please bring your pipettes by room 333 on Monday,
beginning at
1:30pm. Paul
Thieme will
take care of the calibration. Please
be
sure the pipettes you bring are sorted by which room they came
from. An email
will be sent when each group’s pipettes are ready for pickup.
Thanks,
LORRE
