RE: Review and address chemical containers: EPA and IDEM representatives on campus today

Representatives from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM) are on campus today (April 21) to conduct a hazardous waste inspection to verify compliance with Purdue’s EPA hazardous waste management permit. Please verify all chemical containers are closed and properly labeled. This includes high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) waste containers.

For detailed waste storage procedures, please see the following Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) webpage: https://www.purdue.edu/ehps/rem/waste/wststo.html.

Please forward this information to building occupants who may be responsible for a hazardous waste accumulation area. Contact the EHS Hazardous Materials Management area at 765-494-0121 if you have any questions.
