Subject: Network Upgrades (POTR)
All,
ITaP and its partner contractor Presidio will be upgrading Purdue’s campus data network and wireless system in POTR which will require periodic
outages as the new equipment is installed and brought online.
Network switch replacement will involve a total building outage, including VoIP phones, the night the new switches are activated. This should
begin at approximately 11:00 P.M Monday, 4/8 and last until 6:00 A.M the following morning.
In addition, as new wireless access points are installed there will be periodic losses of wireless coverage in areas where these access points
are located, while the old access points are being retired and the new access points are being brought into service. The interruptions should be less than 10 minutes per access point.
