LORRE September Safety
Issue
(9/6/2017)
To All:
Today (9/6/2017)
at 3:30pm in the Fu Room (POTR 234) we have
an important safety retraining.
This time the safety training session will be
focused on how
to manage Lab. waste disposal. Mainly including three aspects:
Biological,
chemical, and physical hazards. Biological hazards are composed of
any material
that contains or has been contaminated by a biohazardous agents
(e.g. microbial
pathogens). Chemical hazards are caused
by exposure to chemicals in the workplace, such as acids,
solvents (especially
if they do not have a label), vapors and fumes, and flammable
materials. Physical hazards are
those involving broken glass and sharp disposal.
We will also describe how to apply The LORRE Chemical Inventory on line.
We expect that all students and staff who work
in the LORRE lab
attend this 2017 fall semester safety retraining. We need you to sign the
safety retraining
form.
Thanks
