b6ea85a7-0cdc-4547-b454-f725c7dab4b1The Indiana University Center for Global Health (IUCGH) is hosting the 8th annual Midwest Universities for Global Health Conference. The conference brings together faculty and students from more than 30 academic institutions across the US Midwest and their global partners to discuss global health issues, share best practices, and network with colleagues. The conference will be held virtually on Thursday, October 7, 9 am-noon EST with the poster presentations opening the day before.

The theme of this year’s conference is Healthcare System Resiliency with an emphasis on global health partnerships, collaboration, and equity.

We are seeking virtual "poster" presentations in a slide-deck format with no more than 8 slides and no more than 5 minutes of recorded audio  (created using the attached PPT template). Submissions may be of any category (case presentation, quality improvement, primary research). These presentations can be new works in progress, a summary of a global health topic(s) of interest (including topics related to education, care and/or research), or papers that have been published in the last year. Please note that abstracts and traditional poster files are not required. Please see below for details regarding submission.

Of special interest are posters related to the conference theme of Healthcare System Resiliency. Three virtual poster presentations that focus on the conference theme will be featured with a live session during the conference. As part of this live session, the three selected poster presenters will be asked to answer questions and engage in discussion after their pre-recorded slide videos are shown live on October 7.

All presentations will be part of a Virtual Poster Exhibit Hall that will open the day before the MUGH Conference.

Please follow the instructions below:

·         Use the attached slide template (i.e., 1 title, 5 core content, 1 acknowledgement)

·         Remember that small fonts and busy slides do not translate well to online presentations on the average 13-inch laptop monitor.

·         Keep your recording to a maximum of 5 minutes and use the option to insert your own video into the slide file, if you have the proper software (requires a recent version of PowerPoint).

·         Prepare/save the file in a .mp4 format. This is most easily done by recording your presentation in a Zoom meeting which should create an .mp4 format automatically.

·         Presentations that exceed the 5 minutes will not be posted so please watch the time closely.

If you have questions related to presentation content or issues with your PowerPoint recording, please contact reply directly to starrobi@iu.edu.

Yours in partnership for a healthier world,

The IUCGH Midwest Universities for Global Health Conference Planning Team
