Subject: NSF Convergence Accelerator Program Workshop
Importance: High
Good afternoon!
We would greatly appreciate your help in sharing the following opportunity
with appropriate departments, faculty, staff and industrial partners.
Dr. Douglas Maughan, Head of NSF’s Convergence Accelerator (C-Accel) Program, will be at Purdue University on January 24th from 1:00 to 5:00PM in Stewart Center, room 218. We invite all interested faculty and research administrators
to join us for this opportunity to learn more about the program in advance of the anticipated 2020 solicitation release. Industrial partners and economic development staff are also encouraged to attend.
Dr. Maughan will present an overview of the C-Accel Program and discuss key elements to consider when preparing a proposal for this funding opportunity. Karthik Ramani, a Purdue professor of mechanical engineering and awardee of the C-Accel
Program, will also share his experiences in preparing a successful proposal. Participants of this workshop will have the opportunity to discuss their proposal plans with Dr. Maughan in one-on-one meetings following the event.
The workshop is free but registration is required at:
https://purdue.ca1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_0wXGagEZbA30ump. Those interested in a one-on-one meeting must contact Sally Bond (sbond@purdue.edu) to request a meeting slot. Please contact Sue Grimes (sgrimes@purdue.edu)
with any questions about the workshop or logistics.
About the Convergence Accelerator
C-Accel identifies areas of research where investment in convergent approaches – those bringing together people from across disciplines, united to solve problems – have the potential to translate to high-benefit results and advance ideas
from concept to deliverables. The Convergence Accelerator seeks to expand and refine NSF’s efforts to support fundamental scientific exploration by creating partnerships that could potentially include stakeholders from industry, foundations, government, nonprofits
and other sectors. Additional information is available at
https://www.nsf.gov/od/oia/convergence-accelerator/index.jsp.
Best wishes,
Sue
