Dear EIA Global Community,
The past October 20th, Bolivia voted for their new government for the following 5 years starting in January 2020. The election brought to the country different political problems that ended in the resignation of the current president (Evo Morales) and created some episodes of violence all over Bolivia.
Now that Bolivia has a new provisional president (Jeanine Áñez) who will call for a new election, we have the hope that we will move forward as a country with new authorities.
I would like to inform that all the staff in Bolivia are safe, we evaluated the situation as this has been happening and took different actions to take care of the security of the people working with us. We think that the situation will improve slowly over this year until we have our new authorities.
Luckily, the problem started during our slow season, so few ongoing projects were affected with the problem. We needed to cancel one team that was coming in the middle of the problems and we are working to define new dates. We hope to finish this year with some delays but achieving all the activities planned. Next year will be a year of change in the country that the office is ready to face.
Sincerely,
Carlos
