NSF East Asia & Pacific Institutes Fellowship

The National Science Foundation International Science & Engineering section provides an opportunity for U.S. graduate students to participate in research experiences in summer 2014 through the East Asia & Pacific
Summer Institutes (EAPSI) program. EAPSI supports graduate students each year to do research in the lab of their choice in any of seven locations:
Australia, China, Japan, Korea, New Zealand, Singapore or
Taiwan. An EAPSI award includes a $5,000 stipend and round trip air ticket provided by NSF, and a living allowance provided by NSF’s counterpart funding agency in the host location. The program is open to U.S. citizens and permanent residents enrolled
in research-oriented graduate programs in NSF-funded STEM fields. The U.S. graduate student is the PI on an EAPSI proposal. The EAPSI program announcement 13-593 and related information are available at

National Defense Science and Engineering Graduate
Fellowship

The National Defense Science and Engineering Graduate (NDSEG) Fellowship is a highly competitive, portable fellowship that is awarded to U.S. citizens and nationals who intend to pursue a doctoral degree in one of fifteen supported disciplines.
NDSEG confers high honors upon its recipients, and allows them to attend whichever U.S. institution they choose. NDSEG Fellowships last for three years and pay for full tuition and all mandatory fees, a monthly stipend, and up to $1,000 a year in medical insurance.
