Since there have been a few people who had questions about design documents and couldn't find it on SharePoint, I'll attach the Template that you will have to use and a few examples. 

If you still want more examples, you can go to :
Sharepoint > India > Semester Documentation> Select a semester and look for "Design specification" or "Design Document" 

In summary, documents attached include:
  1. Design Document Template 
  2. Design Document Example (HFIC Irrigation Team)x2 Semesters
  3. Mid Semester Design Review Presentation x 2 Semesters
