Atoms for Humanity Symposium
October 25-26
Fowler Auditorium, Stewart Center
Atoms for Humanity aims to highlight the role of nuclear energy in achieving a clean energy ecosystem through synergisms and complementarities with various energy sources. Topics include, but are not limited to, decarbonization, hydrogen production, electrification of transportation, integrated energy storage with renewables, district heating/CHP, desalination, agriculture, and manufacturing.
The 2-day symposium is organized by the Center for Intelligent Energy Systems (CiENS) as part of Purdue's technical and scientific leadership in clean energy. It will host industry, government, and academic thought leaders as well as students working on scientific, technical and policy approaches to attain clean energy goals.
Atoms for Humanity brings together a committed community of scholars from a wide range of technological domains leading the development and integration of clean energy and its impact on value-adding enablers for sustainable growth in health, prosperity, and the environment.
Join us as we host industry, government, and academic thought leaders and students, working on scientific, technical and policy approaches to attain clean energy goals.

We’re excited to launch our first series of events in the CARES Hub (Community, Assistance and Resources for Engineering Students)! Check out the events at the link below. Dean’s Leadership Scholars
The Dean’s Leadership Scholars serve as a high-level student sounding board for the Dean of Engineering and offer feedback on strategy and new initiatives advancing Purdue Engineering’s mission of being the largest, best-prepared, and most diverse engineering talent pool in the nation; the top engineering college for research impact; and a strong engine for advancing the state and the nation. Applications are being accepted now through November 3 for 10 outstanding College of Engineering undergraduate students who have a minimum GPA of 3.5 and have completed at least one semester of the First-Year Engineering Program.

The First Generation Student Advisory Board will be begin “First Gen Study Den” on November 2 from 1:00 – 4:00 PM in LMBS 2289. The First Gen Study Den will be every Thursday that school is in session in LMBS 2289 from 1:00 – 4:00 PM. All first generation engineering students are invited to stop by and enjoy some snacks, get help with homework from students in similar classes, and talk with other First Gen students in engineering. A first generation college student is a student whose parents did not earn a bachelor’s degree from a 4-year college or university.

Moonshot Pitch Challenge

Fall Merit Fund Applications Open
The Purdue Engineering Student Council (PESC) is excited to announce that applications for the 2023 Fall Merit Fund are now open! The goal of Merit Fund is to support engineering organizations across campus in the creation and implementation of engineering-related activities and programs that positively impact the Purdue community. All engineering organizations across campus are invited to apply. Applications are open until Sunday, October 22nd at 11:59PM. Interviews will be held for selected organizations on November 4th and 5th. Atoms for Humanity aims to highlight the role of nuclear energy in achieving a clean energy ecosystem through synergisms and complementarities with various energy sources. Topics include, but are not limited to, decarbonization, hydrogen production, electrification of transportation, integrated energy storage with renewables, district heating/CHP, desalination, agriculture, and manufacturing.
The 2-day symposium is organized by the Center for Intelligent Energy Systems (CiENS) as part of Purdue's technical and scientific leadership in clean energy. It will host industry, government, and academic thought leaders as well as students working on scientific, technical and policy approaches to attain clean energy goals.
Atoms for Humanity brings together a committed community of scholars from a wide range of technological domains leading the development and integration of clean energy and its impact on value-adding enablers for sustainable growth in health, prosperity, and the environment.
Join us as we host industry, government, and academic thought leaders and students, working on scientific, technical and policy approaches to attain clean energy goals.

The Purdue Engineering Student Council (PESC) is excited to announce that applications for the 2023 Fall Merit Fund are now open! The goal of Merit Fund is to support engineering organizations across campus in the creation and implementation of engineering-related activities and programs that positively impact the Purdue community. All engineering organizations across campus are invited to apply. Applications are open until Sunday, October 22nd at 11:59PM. Interviews will be held for selected organizations on November 4th and 5th. Intel CEO Patrick Gelsinger comes to Purdue for his lecture on revitalization of semiconductor manufacturing in the U.S.
Gelsinger has been Intel’s CEO since joining the microprocessor leader in February 2021 and also serves on the company’s board of directors. Gelsinger has more than four decades of technology leadership and experience driving innovation, with 30 of those years serving in Intel engineering and executive roles. Before rejoining Intel, he was CEO of VMware, where he transformed the company into a recognized global leader in cloud infrastructure, enterprise mobility and cybersecurity – almost tripling its annual revenue. He began his career in 1979 at Intel, becoming its first chief technology officer and serving as senior vice president and general manager of the Digital Enterprise Group. He managed the creation of key industry technologies like USB and Wi-Fi. Gelsinger also was architect of the original 80486 processor, led 14 microprocessor programs and played key roles in the Intel Core and Intel Xeon processor families, leading to Intel becoming the world’s preeminent microprocessor supplier.

The Purdue Engineering Student Council (PESC) is excited to announce that applications for the 2023 Fall Merit Fund are now open! The goal of Merit Fund is to support engineering organizations across campus in the creation and implementation of engineering-related activities and programs that positively impact the Purdue community.
