Glimmers Greetings from the CoE CARES Hub! Glimmers are small moments we experience throughout the day that make us feel a sense of calm, connection, peace, and safety. When we are mindful of our surroundings and experiences, we are better equipped
to notice glimmers. The wonderful thing about glimmers is that they serve to calm the central nervous system and return us to a regulated state of being when we are feeling stress. Examples of glimmers or “tiny micro moments of joy” as they are often referred,
might be gazing at a clear blue sky with white puffy clouds, hearing the birds chirping happily in a nearby tree, snuggling up with your favorite soft blanket, sitting in front of a roaring fire, enjoying coffee with a friend, cuddling with a pet, or experiencing
anything that elicits a feeling of calm, connection, peace, and safety. Take time to recognize the glimmers in your day and how you feel when you experience them. Recognizing and enjoying glimmers are pathways to your well-being. |
