Safety related information - updates
Hello everyone, I wanted to communicate a few safety updates: * The Building Emergency Plan for FRNY was updated on March 7 and the updated version is available on Chemical Engineering Safety website (https://engineering.purdue.edu/ChE/aboutus/safety) under the Emergency Preparedness section (Building Emergency Plan (BEP) for FRNY Building<https://www.purdue.edu/ehps/emergency-preparedness/emergency-plans/bep/building-beps/frny-bep.html>) * The ChE safety committee developed a "Safety Event Protocol for FRNY Labs" schematic/visual (see attached) to help researchers determine what they need to do in case of a safety event (e.g.: near miss/safety incident) (see attached). The document also provides links to ChE safety website, ChE safety incident/near miss reporting form, FROI form and other resources on campus, such as the emergency preparedness' website, and where to seek medical attention. This visual is now posted in each lab; please take a moment to review the information and reach out to any safety committee member if you have questions. * Our School had the ISP safety review meeting with EHS/REM on Wednesday, March 22. I am still waiting to receive the document from the ISP Program reviewer that states the deficiencies we need to correct for our School to get recertified. During the review process the following labs were inspected and the deficiencies will be communicated to me once they are compiled by REM. * FRNY B019 * FRNY 1006 * FRNY 2003 * FRNY 2004 * FRNY 1183 * FRNY 1185 * FRNY 1190 * FRNY 2184 I will continue to update the School on the ISP review progress as I have news. Thank you for your commitment to safety!
