We will welcome Alan Gerth, an occupational safety specialist with Purdue REM, who will be joining us from the REM Office Ergonomic Center to talk about the ideal office setup and how it can be adapted for home use (and a graduate student budget). Many of us will continue to work from home for the foreseeable future. The impact of a poor ergonomic setting at home (e.g. laying on the couch) may pose the greatest long-term health risk to graduate students. Link to the WebEx session: https://purdue.webex.com/purdue/j.php?MTID=m9d9caf8a1ca11c6a54e98c6dd0ae69f3 Alan will take questions toward the end of his talk. You can submit your questions anonymously by midnight on Tuesday, January 26th at this link: ChESS Home Office Ergonomics Safety Webinar (google.com)<https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSf346k_Uc3O_QrxCYIJL9lKe7Bm0Gzf3i3L6Ts5tcYzfp1Vgw/viewform>, or you can send them via chat during the session. The questions will be answered in the order they are submitted, with questions submitted ahead of time being answered first. We look forward to seeing you all next Wednesday, January 27th at 1 PM for a valuable safety session and for a panel discussion!
