Good afternoon,

CSi Lecture

The Council for Sustainability Initiatives (CSi) is happy to announce the Spring 2012 Green Lecture focused on landfills titled “Solid Waste Disposal, Constituents and Contamination” presented by Dr. Terry West, Professor of Earth Science, Purdue University. The lecture will take place on April 19, 2012, from 9.00 to 10.00 am in FRNY G014. This lecture is part of the regular seminar series and graduate student attendance is required. A reception will follow in the Henson Atrium.

CSi Field Trip

On April 26, 2012, CSi is sponsoring a guided trip to the Clinton County landfill, to understand firsthand how a landfill operates. The trip will start at 8.30 am and we plan to be back at the latest by 11.00 am. All faculty, students (graduate and undergraduate), and staff are invited to participate. The trip is free but RSVP to cfarmus@purdue.edu is needed by April 19 so that appropriate transportation is arranged.

The goal for both the lecture and trip is to raise awareness about post consumption disposal and motivate people to reduce, reuse, recycle as much as possible.

Regards,

Cristina
