Recently, Human Resources implemented a Benefits Ambassadors Program on the West Lafayette campus. Benefits Ambassadors consists of Purdue faculty and staff who will help motivate the Purdue community to achieve an overall healthier life. Ambassadors will help by providing information on the variety of benefits resources available, sharing suggestions and ideas in committee meetings and actively advocating health and wellness benefits among their co-workers. Benefits ambassadors will have the opportunity to learn about initiatives and schedule programming pertaining but not limited to Family Friendly, Retirement, Financial Benefits, Medical Benefits, Center for Healthy Living and Leaves/Time Off.

I have been accepted to be a Benefits Ambassador for Chemical Engineering for 2016-2017. Serving as a benefits ambassador provides me the opportunity to assist with helping faculty and staff in Chemical Engineering utilize the resources for benefits Purdue offers campus wide. This is also a professional development opportunity for me and a chance to exceed/learn in my typical job expectations. I look forward to informing and motivating everyone to achieve healthier lifestyles!

Just a quick note: participants wishing to walk during the upcoming Spring Fling Fitness Walk on Wednesday May 25 must register through the Spring Fling coordinating committee. Register by tomorrow Friday May 13 at 5pm to officially take part in the Spring Fling Fitness Walk. If you have completed a registration form and sent it through campus mail, you do not need to register online. Fitness Walk will start between 11:30 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Finish any time before 3:30 p.m. The walk will only be cancelled if there is a severe storm. An approximately three mile, non-competitive walking event. Walk may include some elevation and/or steps.
