Good morning, everyone,
On Wednesday, October 25th, our School is launching the participation in the RightCycle program. The event is from 12-1 pm in the FRNY Atrium.
This is a sustainability initiative and a joint effort of the ChE safety committee and the ChE sustainability committee (October 21-27 is “Green Week” at Purdue). The RightCycle program, run by Kimberly Clark Professional, allows for recycling of previously
difficult to recycle items such as used, non-hazardous personal protective equipment (e.g.:
nitrile gloves, safety glasses, respirators, coveralls, etc.) to be diverted from landfill and recycled into new plastic products such as flower pots, lawn furniture or playground equipment. Kimberly Clark Professional, Fisher Scientific, Purdue EHS
and Purdue Sustainability Office representatives will also participate. Please see the attached flyer for more information.
Each experimental research group conducting research in a lab should be represented at the event by at least one person. The
event is open to everyone, but at least the safety officer(s), lab manager, or another representative of the group should participate to learn more about the program and share information with the rest of the group. To better plan for food please sign-up
at the following link:
https://purdue.ca1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_3TP3rbJ4fsuBrgi
or via the QR code in the attached flyer
by 12 noon on Tuesday, October 24.
Please let me know if you have questions.
Thank you,
Gabriela
On behalf of the ChE safety and ChE sustainability committees
