Hello Everyone,
Just a note to remind you that Dr. Meenesh Singh (Ph.D. in ChE from Purdue in 2013 and his advisor was Dr. Ramkrishna) is the winner of this year’s Faculty Lecture Award, and
he will be speaking this Thursday (tomorrow) at 9 a.m. in Forney G140. His talk is titled, “A Journey through Crystal Forests,” and all are invited to attend.
There will be a reception with bagels and coffee before the talk at 8:30 in the Atrium. Before Dr. Singh’s lecture, we will present Dr. Singh with his award, and we will also
honor honor Haoran Yang and Mayank Shekhar who each won a Research Publication Award. The Research Publication Award honors outstanding achievement by a Purdue ChE grad student who is the lead author on an article that has been cited the most times in the
past two years. Haoran Yang is being recognized for the high impact of his article, “Nontoxic and Abundant Copper Zinc Tin Sulfide Nanocrystals for Potential High-Temperature Thermoelectric Energy Harvesting,”
Nano Letters, 2012, 12(2), 540-545, which has been cited 20 times since it was published in February 2012. Haoran is advised by Dr. Wu. Dr. Mayank Shekar (Ph.D. Purdue ChE 2012) is being honored for, “Size and Support Effects for the Water-Gas
Shift Catalysis over Gold Nanoparticles Supported on Model AI2O3 and TiO3,” Journal of the American Chemical Society, 2012, 134 (10), 4700-2708,
which has been cited 34 times in the 23 months since it was published in March of 2012. Dr. Shekar was co-advised by Dr. Delgass and Dr. Ribeiro.
Best,
Katie
