Colleagues,
This is to remind you that we will be fully activating your new Cisco Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) phone on Thursday, June 21st. Your new phone is part of a project to replace Purdue’s 20-year-old phone system with modern technology.
Quick reference materials should have been distributed with your new phone and simple training videos are available to assist you in setting it up and becoming familiar with it, including creating new PIN numbers and greetings. You can access these on the project
website
https://www.itap.purdue.edu/telecommunications/rollout/. The website also has an FAQ about the project. Information is available as well in Purdue’s GoldAnswers
online knowledgebase. Search for “Cisco VoIP.”
In addition to activating your new phone this week, a member of the phone project team also will visit your location to remove your old phone.
If you have accessories such as long handset cables, shoulder rests, or headsets, please move these from your old phone to your new phone.
Thank you in advance for your assistance on this major undertaking. If you have questions, please feel free to send an inquiry to VOIP-Rollout@purdue.edu.
Thank you,
Amit J. Patel, ITaP Voice Operations Manager
