Hello everyone,

As you know, EPA representatives inspected different labs on campus yesterday and as part of their inspection they visited 4 labs in our building (FRNY 3190, 3184, 3150 and 2153). The inspectors also talked to the graduate students working in the labs they visited; everyone did a good job on handling their questions. No violations were found and Adam Krajicek from REM, who accompanied the EPA inspector, informed me that the inspector was happy to see that we are in compliance.

Well done to everyone and keep up the good work you do!

Thank you for your commitment to safety!

Gabriela

Hello everyone!

Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) representatives are on campus today, performing inspections of labs to check for compliance with the hazardous waste storage and disposal regulations in the lab. It became customary that EPA is visiting our building whenever they are on campus for inspections, therefore we can expect their visit on this occasion, too.

Please ensure that all chemical containers in the lab are closed and labeled correctly, including the HPLC waste containers.

Thank you for your commitment to safety!

Gabriela,

On behalf of the ChE safety Committee
