FW: Passing of Alexander Sesonske
Dear Colleagues, Pl read the message below from Phil Wankat, about one of our School's former faculty members. May Dr. Sesonke rest in peace... Arvind -----Original Message----- From: Phil Wankat [mailto:wankat@ecn.purdue.edu] Sent: Thursday, June 05, 2014 10:19 AM To: Varma, Arvind Subject: Passing of Alexander Sesonske Arvind, I just noticed in the May 2014 CEP (p. 57) that Alex Sesonke passed away at the age of 93. Alex was a professor in ChE who eventually moved into Nuclear Engineering. He was the co-author of Nuclear Reactor Engineering, which is considered a classic, and Nuclear Engineering recognizes him as the start of Nuclear Engineering at Purdue. Chapter 4 of the big history has more information on Alex. Regards, Phil
