A list of other daily/weekly traffic and construction disruption information may also be found on the Physical Facilities Travel Alert page: http://www.purdue.edu/physicalfacilities/travelalert.php. 2011 Summer Road Closures Already Closed First St., from Waldron St. to University St. - Closure is due to construction of Marriott Hall. MacArthur Dr., from State St. to First St. - Closure is due to the First Street Towers Complex project. --------------- New Closures May 9 - August 5 Beering Dr., from Victory Dr. to Cary Dr. Wooden Dr., from Victory Dr. to Cary Dr. May 16 - May 22 South Russell St., from ASTL (Animal Sciences Teaching Lab) to LSPS (Life Science Plant and Soils Lab) May 16 - July 31 Third St., from Russell St. to University St. Waldron St., from Third St. to Fourth St. Harrison Street Closures Phase 1 (May 16 - August 12) Harrison St., from the west side of S. University Dr. to Sheetz St. Horticulture Dr., University Dr., and Marsteller St. will also be closed at the intersections of Harrison St. Sheetz St. will be open for most of this construction but will have some restrictions at times. After August 12 some incidental construction will take place such as the completion of sidewalks, curbs, plantings, etc...Pedestrian crosswalks will be maintained during construction. This closure is for the installation of utilities along Harrison St., such as storm and sewer lines, water lines, and electrical duct banks. Phase 1A (expected to begin after August 12) Harrison St. from the west side of S. University Dr. to S. Russell St. This closure is for the installation of additional utilities including water lines, electrical and telecommunications duct banks, and storm sewer structures. Phase 1B (expected to begin after Phase 1 is opened to traffic) Harrison St. at S. Russell St. This closure is for the reconstruction of the intersection. A temporary access drive will be built for emergency services, for access to S. Russell Drive, and for access to the west of the intersection. This closure is for a water line, telecommunication duct bank, and storm sewer crossing. Phase 2 - final phase (expected to begin October 10, Fall Break) Harrison St. from the west side of Russell Dr. to the west side of Martin Jischke Dr. This closure is for the construction of a roundabout. --------------- Traffic Lane Restrictions May 16 - July 31 (State Street Project) State St., from South University Dr. to Marsteller St. May 30 - June 10 (Northwestern Lane Restrictions) Northwestern Ave., from Stadium Ave. to Grant St. --------------- Parking lot closure May 16 - Lot north of Ross-Ade Stadium --------------- Parking Garage closures for summer cleaning Building Services will clean the garages at night. Parking will be available during the day. The Building Services staff may need to adjust the start and stop dates for each garage based on weather, resources, and equipment. Changes to the schedule will be communicated. Wood Street Garage, June 5 - July 14 University Street Garage (north half), June 15 - June 22 University Street Garage (south half), June 23 - July 6 (No cleaning July 1-4) Northwestern Street Garage (south half), July 7 - July 18 Marsteller Street Garage, July 19 - July 25 Grant Street Garage, July 26 - August 8 (The Grant Street Garage will remain open. It will be cleaned one half at a time starting with the top three levels. ) Please note: Northwestern Street Garage (north half), May 18 - August 2 (The north half will be closed for major repairs and cleaned by a contractor.) --------------- Utility (Vectren) Installations Various locations throughout campus will have lane restrictions throughout the summer. Please use caution as you approach these work zones.
