MSDS Books for ChE Laboratories
ChE Faculty, Staff and Graduate Students, The requirement of one MSDS book per lab has been raised in our safety audits and inspections. Going ahead, we will require one MSDS book for a group of labs where the labs are located on the same floor and in the same wing of Forney. If your labs do not meet this requirement, you will need to have a MSDS book in each lab. The door posting on each lab should indicate where the common MSDS book is located. The MSDS books are a critical way that we inform researchers and emergency personnel of the materials, both hazardous and non-hazardous, that are in use in our laboratories. Our efforts should be focused on maintaining complete, up-to-date and accessible MSDS books. As reminder, MSDS books are an OSHA requirement that we must adhere to. Please contact me if you have any questions on this policy. Thank you. Linda Linda S.
