Safety Update: Wearing Gloves Outside of Laboratories
ChE Faculty, Staff and Graduate Students, This is a reminder that chemical resistant gloves should be removed BEFORE you touch the door knob and leave your lab. If you are doing work in multiple labs, you should not be moving between labs while wearing gloves that could be contaminated with hazardous chemicals. In April, one of our colleagues (who does not work in a lab) sustained a chemical burn to the eyes that required medical treatment because he touched a contaminated door knob or door panel in Forney. This is terrible and unacceptable. It is everyone's responsibility to follow and enforce this policy to ensure the safety of our personnel. Thank you. Linda Linda S.
