Appointment at Sheffield University
Dear Colleagues I write to let you know that I have accepted a position of Professor of Chemical and Pharmaceutical Engineering at The University of Sheffield to start in January 2016, subject to a successful visa application to the UK. At Sheffield, I will be establishing new teaching and research programs on pharmaceutical engineering and particulate products, as well as taking a strategic leadership role in teaching and learning in the Chemical and Biological Engineering School. The move is for a mixture of personal/family and professional reasons. The decision was a difficult and complex one, and I will miss the many exciting things happening here at Purdue. I want to thank you all for your support as colleagues, and especially Arvind for his patience and support during this process. I will be here for the full Fall semester and a frequent visitor, I hope, after taking up my new position. I look forward to working with you all for the rest of the year. I wanted to communicate this news with you as soon as I reasonably could. I still have a number of people outside Purdue to tell individually, so I appreciate your discretion in sharing the news outside of Purdue at the moment. regards Jim Jim Litster, PhD Professor of Chemical Engineering Professor of Industrial and Physical Pharmacy Director, Center for Particulate Processes and Products Purdue University Forney Hall of Chemical Engineering, Room G027A 480 Stadium Mall Drive West Lafayette IN 47907-2100 USA +1 765 496-2836 (phone) +1 765 494-0805 (fax) jlitster@purdue.edu
