Hello everyone, We are planning on taking a tour of the Subaru plant in Lafayette. The plant, which turns out 100,000-200,000 cars per year, produces *zero landfill waste*! It was the first plant of its kind, recycling all but 1% of its waste, the remainder of which is turned into electricity. We are lucky enough to be almost within earshot of this uniquely green place, and as such it only makes sense that we, as Chemical Engineers, visit this facility to learn a thing or two that we can hopefully apply in our future work in the field. The tour is planned for *December 1st, at 9 AM*. The tour lasts approximately 1.25-1.5 hours, so plan accordingly. If you are interested in attending, please send an email to che.sustainability@purdue.edu as soon as possible.
