Dear Colleagues,

 

I had heard that Bob Squires was not doing well in health, so I visited Carol and him at their home last evening.  Indeed, Bob has had a number of hospitalizations in the last few months, for various reasons, but all appear to be related to his heart condition.  He apparently had a heart episode ~1998, which was resolved successfully then.

 

He remained in a chair all the time I visited (~45 minutes), talked with ease but it was clear that he is unwell. I invited them to attend the Centennial dinner next Friday – I am unsure if they will be able to.  Carol and his eyes lit up when I mentioned that we have put up photos of all the School’s emeritus professors at the entrance of the Forney Hall Addition.  I encouraged them, and they plan to, come see his and other photos.
