Hello everyone,

It was brought to my attention that during the OSHA inspection of our building many of  the labs, and even graduate student offices were found unlocked and unoccupied. Security in our building is paramount. Many of our labs have extremely hazardous chemicals and/or expensive pieces of equipment, thus it is imperative that all labs are locked at all times when researchers are not present in the lab. A good practice to keep labs secure is to keep them locked at all times and use your key to enter whenever needed.

At the same time, it is equally important to safeguard your personal belongings and lock your office whenever you leave, even for a short period of time.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you for your commitment to safety!
