Re: Living with Diabetes Program through Center for Healthy Living
The Center for Healthy Living will offer a new Living with Diabetes program, beginning Sept. 2.
The program is available at no charge to West Lafayette faculty, staff and dependents covered on a Purdue medical plan.
The program will provide essential education and support to help people with diabetes effectively manage their condition. Those who maintain participation in the program will have the added advantage of
discounts on their diabetes medications throughout 2015.
Purdue employees who work during the program’s meeting and appointment times may participate in paid status and don’t need to take sick leave or vacation. Hourly-paid staff will record their time away as “Other
leave.”
The program will be communicated broadly over the next several days, so employees may approach you about having time away from work to take part. Please
be flexible and collaborative in working with your employees to ensure that those who wish to participate will have the opportunity.
We’ve attached an information sheet about the program and encourage you to share this with your staff. More details about the program are available now on the
Center for Healthy Living website.
If you have questions about the program, please call the center’s pharmacist, Kamal Singh, at 49-66833. Questions about paid release time may be directed to the HR Service Center at 49-42222 or
hr@purdue.edu.
Thank you.
