Dear Colleagues,

Today is a red letter day in our School’s history!  Purdue University Board of Trustees approved the founding of our School of Chemical Engineering on June 14, 1911 - one hundred years ago today.  During this period, the accomplishments of our School’s alumni, faculty, students and staff members have been both remarkable and inspirational.  As you are aware, we are celebrating these achievements with 12 Centennial seminars presented by School alumni from different walks of life throughout the 2011 year; the Main Event on campus during October 7-8, 2011; and the publishing of a book, titled “100 Years of Chemical Engineering at Purdue.”

For the history buffs, our BSChE curriculum was established on April 26, 1907 – many will recall that we celebrated that centennial four years ago. When our School was established on June 14, 1911, there were 79 students enrolled in the ChE undergraduate program – 32 Freshmen, 22 sophomores, 15 juniors and 10 seniors!

We are fortunate to be in Purdue ChE at this historic moment!

Best,

Arvind
