Please see below the message from Dr. Valentina Negri, ISF Research Scientist, inviting Purdue faculty, staff and graduate students to complete the campus sustainability survey https://purdue.ca1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_ezleJ7JJfNdDmmi. The  survey is open until the end of Friday, September 26.

_________

Dear faculty, staff and graduate students,

Living in a healthy, safe and sustainable environment is important to many on the Purdue campus. Purdue University’s Institute for a Sustainable Future (ISF) is inviting you to participate in a survey focused on sustainability culture and behavior at Purdue to help us benchmark current responses and guide future planning.

This survey, “Campus Sustainability Culture Assessment”, IRB Protocol Number: IRB-2025-1012, is part of a larger Campus Sustainability Self-study project being led by ISF over the course of the 2024-2025 academic year.

More specifically, the data gathered will help campus partners to:

  1. Develop targeted strategies to expand opportunities for faculty, staff, and graduate students to engage in sustainability initiatives.
  2. Inform and strengthen current sustainability efforts across campus.
  3. Identify barriers and opportunities to promote a stronger culture of sustainability at Purdue.

This is the first time a survey of this kind is being conducted at Purdue. The questions are based on models from peer institutions, insights from academic literature, and interviews with campus offices such as transportation, procurement, and dining services. The survey will ask about your habits, such as transportation to and from campus, recycling practices, and other sustainability-related behaviors.

The survey will take approximately 10 minutes. The deadline for answering this survey is Sunday, September 26th at midnight.

Link to the survey: https://purdue.ca1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_ezleJ7JJfNdDmmi. More information on the study and the Exempt Info sheet can be found on our website.

We greatly appreciate your time and effort in completing this survey. Any questions can be directed to Dr. Valentina Negri, vnegri@purdue.edu, ISF Research Scientist, or Dr. Lynne Dahmen, ldahmen@purdue.edu, ISF Senior Managing Director.

Sincerely, on behalf of the Campus Sustainability Self-Study working group,

Valentina Negri
Research Scientist, Institute for a Sustainable Future
