Dear all,

Please see below a few safety related updates that were made to the safety webpage of our School (https://engineering.purdue.edu/ChE/AboutUs/Safety.html):

1.       The revised Building Emergency Plan (BEP) for Forney was uploaded and is the first link under the “Emergency Preparedness” section. This is a PDF document, that can be printed and kept in the labs in the safety folders. The BEP is specific to our building and provides information related to our building and on emergency procedures in case of evacuation or shelter-in-place events. Please read this document.

2.       Dow  made publically available the “Dow Lab Safety Academy” (http://safety.dow.com/) in May.  This is a digital learning environment that provides academic researchers with resources for laboratory safety, and shares Dow’s outstanding industrial safety culture and practices in a quick and accessible format.  Here you can access dozens of videos featuring lab safety guidelines, and a collection of useful safety resources. The link is posted on our website under the “Safety Resources” section; it is the last link. I know that many of you are already aware about the “Dow Lab Safety Academy”, but I wanted to make everyone aware of this great source of safety training material.

3.       There is an announcement in today’s issue of  “Purdue today”, regarding the new locations for the “after hours” care for work related injuries. Please access this information via the link below:

Should you have any questions regarding the information in this email, please contact me.

Best regards,

Gabriela
