Dear Colleagues,

I am delighted to inform that Dr. Jan-Anders Manson has accepted our offer to join this Fall as Distinguished Professor in the Schools of Materials Engineering (MSE) and Chemical Engineering (ChE), 50% each, with the tenure home in MSE.   

I thank all who were involved in his recruiting, and take this opportunity to especially thank Byron Pipes for alerting us to his availability, for his immense efforts in arranging Jan-Anders’ visits to Purdue, and for making it all happen.  As a member of the composites manufacturing pre-eminent team search committee, Jim Caruthers also played an important role.  The relationships we have established with MSE over the years will grow stronger as a result of Jan-Anders’ joining.  It has been great to work with Dave Bahr and our MSE colleagues in this effort – our collective future is brilliant!
