Gabriela,
Last Thursday the EPA was on campus to conduct a hazardous waste inspection. The inspector typically randomly selects a few buildings/labs on campus to inspect, but this year they let me choose the locations, which puts the pressure on me to select the right
locations! Forney was the first building that I selected for inspection. The EPA inspected the following rooms: FRNY 3140, 3151, 3182, 3184, and 3190. I am happy to report that there were no violations. The inspector commented on how good everything looked
and he was impressed by the waste collection system that he saw. I’d like to thank the Chemical Engineering Department for their continued commitment to safety and compliance.
