Building Deputies,

As a reminder, new regulations are in place to reflect storage and registration requirements for electric and motor-powered vehicles or EMPVs. This means EMPVs are not permitted to be operated, stored or charged inside any part of all university buildings. Below is some additional guidance to help enforce these new regulations.

Storage/Parking

EMPVs may only be parked in bicycle racks, on bicycle pads or in locations designated for EMPV parking on campus. EMPVs may be parked in U-racks in the Grant Street, Harrison Street and Northwestern Avenue parking garages.

Charging

EMPV operators should charge their devices at home before coming to campus. Students living in residence halls should use Veo or bicycles.

Removal Process

Any EMPV found in violation of these regulations may be removed and/or ticketed with a violation notice. If you discover an EMPV in your building, please report it to Parking Operations at 765-494-9497 or parking@purdue.edu. If someone contacts you about an EMPV that may have been removed, please direct them to Parking Operations.

Registration

If the opportunity presents itself, please encourage operators to register their EMPVs with Parking Operations if they have not already done so.

Operators can register an EMPV by bringing a photo of the device’s serial number to Parking Operations at Stewart Center in room G054 and ask about the registration process. An EMPV is not registered until Parking Operations has confirmed the information and a sticker has been distributed.

Window/Door Decals

New window and door decals have been created to provide consistent messaging at all building entrances, as shown in the image below. The new decals are in the process of being installed by Operations and Maintenance. Once the new decal is installed, please make sure older decals are removed.

Questions

Questions may be directed to Parking Operations at 765-494-9497 or parking@purdue.edu.
