Reminder: A special program on professional responsibility……….please share with your colleagues/students this once in a lifetime opportunity to hear from engineers who were involved in serious
incidents.
What: A Special Presentation/Discussion open to interested students, faculty and staff entitled
“Professional Responsibility in Engineering Practice”
1. Hear from and question engineers who were “on the ground” for the following disasters:
a. Challenger Shuttle (1986 – 7 dead)
b. Kansas City Skywalk Collapse (1981 – 114 dead)
c. Refinery Explosion and Fire (2005 – 15 dead)
2. Become more familiar with how interdisciplinary issues in engineering, business, ethics and communications contribute to fatal incidents.
