Leonards Lecture by Prof. Giulia MB Viggiani, April 11, 2025 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The 2025 Purdue Geotechnical Society Workshop and the 21st G.A. Leonards Lecture, an in-person event, will take place on Friday, April 11th, on the West Lafayette campus of Purdue University. The theme for the workshop is “Engineering the Ground: from fundamentals to applications”. It aligns with the subject of the Leonards Lecture, “Engineering Frozen Ground: understanding the behavior of soil on freezing and thawing”, which will be given by Professor Giulia MB Viggiani of Cambridge University. She has been recognized as a leader in geotechnical engineering research, education and practice, and we are thrilled that Professor Viggiani has accepted our invitation to give the Leonards Lecture. The workshop will consist of a full day of technical presentations and discussions including Keynote Lectures by Prof. Chadi El Mohtar of UT Austin and Raymond Franz of Keller North America. The technical program will culminate with the Leonards Lecture and will be followed by a reception and dinner.
