Purdue Host 39th Annual Civil Engineering Professional Development Seminar


Hundreds of civil engineering experts, professionals and students from around the world were on Purdue's campus to learn about the latest advancements in the civil engineering industry.

Earlier this month, Purdue University Lyles School of Civil and Construction Engineering Professor Cary Troy took students out to Lake Michigan where they are working with the Army Corps of Engineers on a dredging project.

Purdue to host CIB 23rd World Building Congress in 2025


Purdue University will host the 23rd World Building Congress (WBC2025) at its campus in West Lafayette from May 19-23, 2025. The title of the conference is “Sustainable Built Environment – The Role of the Construction Community in Meeting the UN SDGs.”


 

Lake Michigan shoreline research project receives funding from U.S. Coastal Research Program


A study examining the Lake Michigan shoreline response to a record-breaking extreme water level event that occurred between 2013 and 2020 has received funding from the U.S. Coastal Research Program (USCRP). The project is being led by Cary Troy, Professor of Civil Engineering.



 

Purdue Construction Engineering Alumnus recognized at Outstanding Alumni Awards


Congratulations to Jeff Hagerman (BSCNE '93) and Augie Ziccarelli (BSCNE '81) for being named Outstanding Alumni. Logan Cook (BSCNE '10) and Ricky Grogan (BSCNE '12) have been recognized as Emerging Leaders at the 2024 Construction Engineering Outstanding Alumni Awards event.


 

IndyGo President and CEO Jennifer Pyrz on the value and future of public transportation


A new episode of "This Is Purdue" features Jennifer Pyrz, president and CEO of IndyGo. Purdue engineering alumna, Pyrz (BSCE '95, MSCE '97) was appointed president and CEO of Indiana's largest public transit agency in May 2024.


 

Mourning the loss of Professor Milton E. Harr


It is with deep sadness that we share the news of the passing of Professor Milton Harr. Milton was a professor emeritus at the Lyles School of Civil and Construction Engineering who served 43 years as faculty.
