Recruitment of Undergraduate Students for Participation in Construction Safety Research

 

- PI: Dr. Behzad Esmaeili, Associate Professor, joint appointment at IE and CCE

 

- Application information:  If you are fully available from October 6th to 10th, please send your CV by 1 PM on Wednesday, September 25th.

 

- Eligibility:  

  • Must be Purdue IE  2024 fall semester “ENROLLED” undergraduate student
  • Should be Fully committed to support construction safety (human factor) experiment from October 6th to October 10th  (must attend two days of training before the departure).
  • Must be able to drive 2 hours 15 min (from campus to a construction site located in IL).  
  • Also, will be part of research team after the trip to conduct other experiments (if you want to).

 

- Paid $15/hour.

 

-  Work Schedule:

  • About 9 hours on October 7th and 8th (7 AM–12 PM and 1 PM–4 PM); includes break time.
  • About 10 hours on October 9th and 10th (6 AM– 4 PM) –; includes break time.
  • Etc

 

-  Job Description:  Under the guidance of the lead researcher (a Ph.D. student), your role as an undergraduate research intern will be to assist the team in setting up and conducting a construction safety experiment with real construction tasks. You will help ensure the proper setup and operation of advanced sensors used to measure psychological and physiological data. You would be able to participate/ understand the whole research protocol. This is a great opportunity to enhance your CV.
