Dear Students,
Two exciting new bridge engineering courses are now available for registration in Spring 2026. These courses are a unique opportunity to acquire knowledge and skills that are highly demanded in the bridge engineering industry:
-
CE 49700-001 (3.0 credits, CRN: 39700):
Design and Evaluation of Steel Highway Bridges: This course provides students with the necessary tools to perform the design of straight steel I-girder bridge superstructures with non-slender webs. The course focuses on practical application of the current
AASHTO LRFD bridge design and load rating procedures.
-
CE 59700-222 (3.0 credits, CRN: 39715):
Advanced Design of Steel Bridge Axial Members and Gusset Plate Connections:
This course provides students with the necessary background to design steel members and connections typically used in truss bridges. The course utilizes FEA software commonly used in steel bridge design to support the fundamentals taught as well as to provide
students with practice-oriented examples and exercises.
