Dear Staff, Lecturers, and staff:
I am writing to share the difficult news that one of our undergraduate students died by suicide on Thursday. This loss is deeply painful. Our thoughts are with the student’s family, friends, classmates, and
all members of our community who may be affected. We recognize that news like this can be upsetting and may impact individuals in different ways. We also understand that many of you may be supporting students while processing your own reactions to this tragedy.
Please know that you are not expected to navigate this difficult moment alone.
The school is actively preparing communications for students, faculty, and staff that will include information about available counseling, mental health, and support resources. These details will be shared
shortly. In the meantime, we encourage anyone who may be struggling, feeling overwhelmed, or simply needing to talk to someone to seek support. Reaching out to a colleague, supervisor, counselor, trusted friend, or available professional resources is an important
step. Please take care of yourselves and one another during this time.
Thank you for the compassion, care, and support you continue to show our students and each other. Best regards, Ayman.
