All: Building services is starting a new pilot program for cleaning with an estimated start date of February 2, 2026. What's changing: -Office cleaning frequency will be adjusted as part of the pilot. Building services is planning on moving office cleaning to a MONTHLY frequency. - Deskside bins will remain in offices, but custodians will no longer service them. - Building occupants will have to empty their own deskside bins into the centralized hallway bins (Recycling and landfill). - Centralized bins will continue to be serviced by Building services. Once again, hundreds of nominations and applications were reviewed to identify 38 exceptional young alumni who continue to demonstrate the very best of what it means to be a Purdue Engineer. The portal for the 2026 class is open, and I encourage you to nominate Purdue Engineering alumni who are 38 years old and younger on January 1, 2026, and who meet the following criteria: 1. The nominee has demonstrated an accelerated trajectory of professional success by such measures as quickly increasing responsibilities or advancement to a leadership role; successful growth or sale of business; early career recognitions within their company, institution, or industry; impactful discovery, learning, and engagement; and/or high regard within their field, and 2. The nominee's achievements have made significantly high impact to their organization, to their board/shareholders, to society or to their community, i.e. as measured in units relative to their work, such as sales, revenue, margin, licensing of patents, lives improved or saved, citations, start-up companies, etc. Nominations are due January 31, 2026. OGSPS Excellence in Postdoctoral Mentoring Award

Purdue University is proud to announce the inaugural Excellence in Postdoctoral Mentoring Award, established by OGSPS to formally acknowledge the essential role postdoctoral trainees play in advancing our research, teaching, and engagement missions. This prestigious award recognizes postdoctoral researchers who dedicate a significant amount of time and energy to mentoring other postdoctoral researchers, graduate students, and undergraduates, whether their efforts occur in the laboratory, field, or classroom. Exceptional postdoctoral mentors: * GENUINELY CARE about the mentee's work and success, and especially about the mentee as a person. * are RESPECTFUL-they visibly respect all lab or team members, from undergraduates to the PI. * are DEDICATED to their mentoring and prioritize it over other competing demands. * are HIGH ACHIEVERS and model scholarly excellence. * are ACTIVELY INVOLVED at their institution and in their field; for example, you will see them contributing to graduate programs, department efforts, and societal organizations. * are HIGHLY ETHICAL; they proactively observe research ethics, including setting high standards for honest reporting, and closely follow research and safety protocols Award amount: The Excellence in Postdoctoral Mentoring Awardees will receive a plaque, $1,500, and will be honored at the OGSPS Awards Reception on April 23, 2026. Eligibility: Applicants must have their Ph.D and be engaged in postdoctoral training under a limited-term contract at Purdue. This can include some Visiting Scholars. If there are questions about eligibility, please email postdoc-affairs(a)purdue.edu<mailto:postdoc-affairs@purdue.edu> CCE can submit one nomination to the College of Engineering. All the Engineering nominations will be reviewed and ranked and the top finalist will be submitted to OGSPS for final review. The top five ranked nominations at the OGSPS level will win an award.
