I did not receive any Chappelle Fellowship nominations.

If you have any last-minute applicants that meet the criteria, please let me know.  Our nomination is due to the College by January 21st.

Chappelle Fellowship: The Charles C. Chappelle Fellowship is for the recruitment of students with undergraduate degrees from Purdue for the furtherance of PhD research at Purdue University, each fellowship provides a one-year award package, including a salary, tuition payment, and medical insurance benefits. Recipients are selected based on character, intellectual ability, and promise of degree attainment.  $28,000 is allocated from OGSPS, so this fellowship would need to be supplemented up to the CCE rate.  Faculty can choose to cover the student fees with discretionary or gift funds.  International students are eligible.

Subject: Knox and Chappelle Fellowship Nominations

Hello CCE Faculty,

There have been some updates to the Knox and Chappelle Fellowships for 2026-27.

We can make one nomination to the College for each of the fellowships – then those nominations will be reviewed/ranked at the College level and only the top two Engineering nominations will be submitted to OGSPS for consideration.

We will accept one nomination from each area within CCE for each of these two fellowships.  Specific information for each is below:

Knox Fellowship: For the recruitment of students pursuing Master’s level graduate education. This fellowship provides a one-year award package to the fellow. Recipients are selected based on character, intellectual ability, and promise of degree attainment.  $28,000 is allocated from OGSPS, so this fellowship would need to be supplemented up to the CCE rate.  Faculty can choose to cover the student fees with discretionary or gift funds.

ELIGIBILITY

·         Be accepted to a residential Masters thesis program

·         Demonstrate superior academic achievements and scholarly abilities

·         Be seeking a thesis degree master’s program

Chappelle Fellowship: The Charles C. Chappelle Fellowship is for the recruitment of students with undergraduate degrees from Purdue for the furtherance of PhD research at Purdue University, each fellowship provides a one-year award package, including a salary, tuition payment, and medical insurance benefits. Recipients are selected based on character, intellectual ability, and promise of degree attainment.  $28,000 is allocated from OGSPS, so this fellowship would need to be supplemented up to the CCE rate.  Faculty can choose to cover the student fees with discretionary or gift funds.

                ELIGIBILITY

Please determine your area nomination, then forward your completed form(s) to me by January 9, 2026.  Fall 2026 applications are being released for review as they are complete.

Please let me know if you have any questions.    I will be sending the information about the Ross Fellowship nomination process soon.
