The Moh Scholarships supporting LSCCE students participating in international programs (academic year 2024-2025)

September 13, 2024 Dear LSCCE Students: The Lyles School of Civil and Construction Engineering is pleased to offer Moh Scholarships to LSCCE students participating in international programs at Purdue University. The Moh Scholarships are supported by the Za-Lee and Jeannette Moh Endowment. During the 2024-2025 academic year (i.e., Fall 2024, Winter 2024, Spring 2025, and Summer 2025), the Moh Scholarships will be offered at the following levels: * "Semester program" category: $3,000 for each LSCCE student participating in a Purdue-approved semester program * "Short-term study abroad program" category: o $1,000 for each LSCCE student participating in a LSCCE-offered short-term study abroad course o $500 for each LSCCE student participating in a non-LSCCE-offered short-term study abroad course Please see the enclosed document for additional information (definitions, conditions, and requirements) about the Moh Scholarships. Julie Jesiek is our administrator for the Moh Scholarship. Please contact her at jjesiek(a)purdue.edu<mailto:jjesiek@purdue.edu> directly with any questions. The Moh Scholarship will be applied automatically if a student is eligible. However, the award may be delayed due to timing of the confirmation of student's participation, due to timing of the program, and current major (in cases of move into LSCCE). This academic year, LSCCE faculty are offering six short-term study abroad courses (one in Winter 2024, one in Spring Break 2025, and four in Summer 2025). The panel is geared to both university students and young professionals, and features panelists that are highly influential in the U.S. infrastructure space and the Gateway Program: * Betty Cerini will be moderating the panel, and is the Co-Head of Projects, Americas practice at Ashurst. * Tianyi Yang is a financial & commercial advisor for the gateway project since 2019 at EY Infrastructure Advisors & a board member of YPI. * Julius Chang is a senior lecturer in civil engineering at Columbia University, where he teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in construction engineering and management. He is the project controls lead at HDR, a leading consulting engineering firm. * Pat Foye is an operating partner at Ardian, and was formerly the MTA Chairman and PANYNJ Executive Director * Jee Mee Kim is a city executive at Arcadis, the senior community relations manager for Gateway Development Commission, & an adjunct assistant professor at NYU for transportation planning. College of Engineering and Lyles School of Civil and Construction Engineering are hosting Dr. Jerome Hajjar on Thursday, September 12. Dr. Hajjar is CDM Smith Professor, University Distinguished Professor, and Department Chair of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Northeastern University. He is a very renowned and prestigious professor in the area of civil engineering. This event starts with a lecture given by Dr. Hajjar, followed by a panel discussion. Next, the graduate students of CCE present their latest research in the poster session. This poster session is a good chance to talk to Dr. Hajjar and see different ongoing research from different areas of CCE. Being a part of the CEGSAC team offers a unique opportunity to connect with new people, experience diverse activities, and organize events for CCE graduate students!
