Ido Kaminer - Meet a IST Expert - Tuesday Nov 9th 1pm - zoom
Dear QSC Students, Postdocs, and Affiliates, We continue our Meet a QIST Expert Seminar Series next Tuesday (Nov. 9th) at 1pm EST with Professor Ido Kaminer, a faculty member and the group leader for the AdQuanta group at Technion-Israel Institute of Technology. Professor Kaminer's lab focuses on non-linear quantum optics, light-matter interactions, and ultrafast optics, and his group built the first 4D electron microscope in Israel. Ido joined Technion in 2018, where he is an Associate Professor of Electrical Engineering and the Jacques Lewiner Career Advancement Chair. Before joining Technion as a faculty member, he obtained his Ph.D. in Physics in 2014 at Technion under Distinguished Professor Mordechai Segev. After his time at Technion, Ido joined MIT's Physics Department as a Marie Curie Fellow, Rothschild Fellow, and the Technion-MIT Fellow. Professor Kaminer has received numerous early career awards, including the Blavatnik Award for Young Scientists in Israel and his election to the Israeli Young Academy. In his talk, Ido will share a brief technical overview of his work in quantum optics. After his talk, he will continue the technical discussion and delve into his career experience through a fireside chat with Blake Wilson (Ph.D. student in QSC). We are looking forward to you joining our seminar with Professor Kaminer. Feel free to share this announcement with your friends and colleagues.
