Lab Open House: Friday, 12:45 pm, outside of clean room
Hello, NSAC, the Nanotechnology Student Advisory Council, is hosting a lab open house on Friday, Oct. 21st, from 12:45 - 1:00 pm. Lab Open House is a way to learn what goes on in all those labs and clean room bays you walk by everyday. Please meet at the top of the main stairway, outside of the entrance of the clean room. The tour will be on the outside of the clean room - no clean room access or special clothing is needed. This week's tour will feature the new Panasonic Inductively Coupled Plasma (ICP) Deep Reactive Ion Etching (DRIE) tool, which can be used to etch titanium, silicon, silicon dioxide, silicon nitride, and other materials. Grad students Patrick McCarthy, Hugo Aguilar, and Cara Smith will show devices such as heart stents which they have made using this tool Thanks, NSAC
